Freemasonry in Cornwall

A WELCOME FROM THE PROVINCIAL GRAND MASTER - JAMES KITSON

Previous page

One of the most frequent questions we Masons are asked is ‘what do you do’?
This in simple terms is difficult to answer but we do try and instil within our membership much of the heavily publicised word of ‘respect’. Respect to our fellow members and their families and also to and in the communities that we belong.
On joining we expect them not to enter into any religious or political dialogue; this is not what we are about. In the purest sense we look at life, the ups and downs and how we overcome them. Treating our fellow man fairly and squarely in all our dealings is one of our main precepts.

Lodges meet at varying times within the year, some meet 12 times, others only three or four but one thing is evident in that the Lodge meeting to a good number of people is an important part of their everyday diary. They enjoy the company of their fellow members and the meal that generally takes place at the end of the meeting and they all leave feeling that they have had a pleasant couple of hours.

Many Lodges have adopted the initiative of inviting interested parties to their festive boards where questions are asked (and answered) and the mystique of our organisation removed slightly. The aspect of what do we do is so involved that this page would not be enough, so the best advice is continue to look at our site and others pertaining to Masonry and then contact the Office or a known member for further information. The members will not bite and will be quite pleased to talk about their involvement.

It is hoped that this site will satisfy your curiosity and acquaint you with some of our ideals.

For further information please contact the Provincial Office or the webmasters. Cornish Freemasonry is in good heart and the members are justly proud of its long and distinguished heritage.
