Celebrating 50 Years of Fidelity and Service to Freemasonry: W. Bro Geoffrey F. W. Isaac, PAGDC
On Wednesday, 20th May 2026, Carew Lodge No. 1136 hosted a truly distinguished gathering to celebrate the Golden Anniversary of a pillar of Cornish Freemasonry: W. Bro Geoffrey F W Isaac, PAGDC.

The evening was marked by the presence of a high-profile delegation of Grand and Provincial Officers, led by the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, V. W. Bro Michael Pritchard. The delegation included the current Provincial Grand Master for the Mark Province of Cornwall, the Immediate Past Provincial Grand Master, and three Past Deputies, all gathered to honour a man held in the highest possible esteem.

A Half-Century of Dedication
W. Bro Geoff’s Masonic journey began on 21st April 1976, when he was initiated into Carew Lodge No. 1136. His professional background as a solicitor lent a natural precision to his Lodge work, and he quickly progressed, being raised within just six months.

His extensive service to the Craft includes:
• Worshipful Master: Carew Lodge (1987) and Robert Eliot Lodge No. 9483 (2012/13).
• Lodge Almoner: Serving from 1995–2000 and again from 2021 to the present day.
• Provincial Grand Rank: Appointed Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden in 2001.
• Grand Rank: Appointed Past Grand Director of Ceremonies by the United Grand Lodge of England in 2004.

A "Keystone" of Mark Masonry
W. Bro Geoff is perhaps most renowned as a Keystone of Mark Masonry. Having been advanced into Carew Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 1098 in 1977, he rose to become the 11th Provincial Grand Master for the Mark Province of Cornwall. He led the Mark Province with integrity and distinction for a full decade, from 2004 to 2014.

His influence extends to London, where he recently served as Worshipful Master of the prestigious Lord Swansea Lodge. In April 2026, he had the distinct honour of installing his successor, the Pro Grand Master Designate, R. W. Bro Paul Raymond Clement.

Service Beyond the Lodge
Geoff’s commitment to the core values of Freemasonry—Integrity, Friendship, Respect, and Service—is equally visible in his local community:

  • He served as a School Governor and Chairman at Torpoint School.
  • He has been a dedicated member of the Rame Male Voice Choir for over 45 years.
  • His 55-year marriage to his late wife, Christine, was the bedrock of his life. His devoted care for her during her long illness, while continuing his duties as Almoner, serves as a profound example of his fortitude.

The Presentation
V. W. Bro Michael Pritchard, acting on behalf of the Provincial Grand Master for Cornwall, R. W. Bro David G. Maskell, presented W. Bro Geoff with a Certificate of 50 Years of Fidelity and Service.

The evening served as a heartfelt tribute to a "pillar of the Province," whose quiet, steadfast commitment has left an indelible ‘MARK’ on Freemasonry in Cornwall.
